1. Delete Your Account in the App
You can delete your DotBuy account yourself, at any time, without contacting anyone:
1. Open the DotBuy app2. Tap Profile3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete My Account4. Read what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete forever
Your account and personal data are deleted immediately. You will be signed out.
You can also sign in at https://dotbuy.app/app on any browser and follow the same steps — an Android device is not required.
2. If You Cannot Access the App
Email [email protected] from the email address on your DotBuy account, or tell us the mobile number you registered with, and ask us to delete your account.
We will verify that the request comes from the account holder — usually by sending an OTP to the registered mobile number — and then delete the account.
• Acknowledgement: within 48 hours• Completion: within 30 days of a verified request, and normally within 7 days
3. What Gets Deleted
The following are permanently and irreversibly deleted:
• Your name, email address and mobile phone number• All saved delivery addresses, including any coordinates• Your cart, cart history and search history• Notification records and push notification tokens• Support tickets and their contents• Device records, including any quick-commerce platform login sessions stored on your device
4. What Is Retained, and Why
Order records are kept for 7 years. Indian financial and tax regulations require a business to retain records of completed transactions, and that obligation outlives the account.
At the moment you delete your account, your name, phone number and delivery address are stripped out of those order records. What remains is an accounting record — what was ordered, when, from which platform, for how much — and it is no longer linked to identifiable personal data.
Anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you (such as counts used to improve search ranking) may be retained indefinitely.
5. Before You Delete — Please Note
• Any unspent DotBuy Wallet balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered. Spend or withdraw it first.• Orders already placed are not cancelled. They were placed on a quick-commerce platform and will still be delivered. Cancel them on that platform directly if you do not want them.• Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery period and no way to restore the account.• You can sign up again later with the same mobile number, but it will be a new, empty account.
